I knew when I had the idea to do a Stampin' Up St. Patty's banner, that the next on the docket was an Easter banner. As promised, I delivered. And I can't stop smiling!!! What better reason to celebrate in life than the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Can I get an amen?  Want to make this banner? Gather 6-10 of your friends and I'll bring the supplies to a prepaid class in your home or my craft room.

The Celebration basics banner kit comes with 15 banner pieces, which means that after you make your "celebrate", you have 6 more to play with. One kit = 3 banners = FANTASTIC!!!  (actually 4, I still have 2 banner pieces left...hmm. I'm thinking "Celebrate Spring".) Stay tuned....

includes 4 sheet of self adhesive streamers, 12' stitched garland, 2 sheets of die cut accents, 1 sheet each 12x12 and 7 x 12; 12 sheets of 6"x6" designer series paper; stampin' spritzer for coloring streamers (use with classic stampin' ink refills, sold separately) WOW WOW!

ink: baked brown sugar classic stampin' pad

punches: itty bitty punch pack (flowers), bitty butterfly punch, elegant butterfly punch, bird punch, large oval punch

embellishments: basic pearls jewel accents, gold mini clothespins (Occasions catalog)

Easter Banner overlay:

Cut 2 soft sky pieces in shape of banner piece, cut strips of garden green at 1 in 1 1/4" and 1 3/4". Cut wavy lines in each garden green layer, then cut two narrowest pieces with fringe scissors to make grass. The widest strip goes in back (do not use fringe scissors on it). Tape soft sky onto banner, then layer garden green pieces together. Stamp hardwood stamp set onto crumb cake paper x3 with baked brown sugar ink. Cut 1 inch wide strips to make the cross.  Tuck into grass and adhere to banner.  Cut out "He Is Risen" with alphabet bigz die and Bigshot.  Glue these to the soft sky area on banner piece. Punch out a few flowers from designer paper in calypso coral and crisp cantaloupe, adhere pearl to center of flower and use glue dots to attach in the grass.  For right side - banner piece with cross, use bird punch to punch garden green vines and arrange to look like they are growing out of the grass onto the cross.  Cut more flowers, adhere pearls to flowers and attach at the base of the leaves of bird punch branch, wrapping "vines" around cross.  Punch butterfly from calypso coral and cantaloupe designer paper (in add on kit) and adhere to each other with glue dots and embellish with pearls.  Adhere to banner.  For "egg" pieces, cut soft sky, calypso coral card stock and crisp cantaloupe and calypso coral designer paper (from add on kit) eggs with large oval punch.  Run eggs from solid paper through either polka dot or lattice embossing folder. Make grass with fringe scissors and tuck eggs inside, then attach butterfly punched and layered as on banner pieces. Clip to banner with gold mini clothespins.  This makes it easy to change out. Only take off two end pieces and your clip on pieces and you're ready for the next banner!

 

Gather some friends and we'll make this at a class. Don't live in LR? No worries, it's an easy kit!!!

THANKFUL BANNER

 

My fabulous upline Becky Liggin originally designed this banner which I made a tiny bit differently, but it is so beautiful, isn't it???

 Bet you are wondering how I got those leaves on there. Becky had the fabulous idea to run a piece of acetate (overhead projector film, I think) through the BigShot to create a stencil, then I sponged colors onto the banner.

Stampin' Up supplies used:
Simply created banner kit
Thankful tablescape simply created kit (black chalkboard pieces)
paper: sweater weather designer series paper, tangerine tango, old olive, crushed curry, chocolate chip 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock, champagne glitter paper
Big Shot: autumn accents bigz die
ink: tangerine tango, always artichoke, chocolate chip, early espresso, sahara sand, crushed curry reinkers, chocolate chip classic stamp pad
other: sponge daubers, white stampin' chalk marker, stampin sponge

Details:
Use letter stencils to stencil "thankful" on  banners in early espresso ink. Squirt a little ink onto plastic lid or whatever you can find :).  (TIP: do not tap or dab, but use a little bit of ink at first and drag and rub the ink onto the banner. I had way more luck with this technique than using the sprayers).  Remember, you can always add, but you can not take away.  Sponge chevron, polka dot, strips and leaves on banners in same back and forth motion.  Let dry. Cut leaves out with autumn accents bigz die.  Cut acorns with champagne glimmer paper and autumn accents bigz die. Sponge edges of acorns with chocolate chip ink.  Write names on black chalkboard pieces with white chalk marker.  Cut strips of sweater weather and layer onto strips a little bit wider for pieces in between pennants, cut "v" in strips. For the strips between the banner pieces, make the strips a little longer and fold them over themselves on the back and tape leaving room for the jute to thread through.  Tie linen thread around acorns.  Layer leaves, acorns and black chalkboard pieces with glue dots. Thread jute twine through the pennants, starting from the front and going through the back on each pennant/paper strips.
