Label Love "Cutest Baby Ever" card
This Cutest Baby Ever card is the cutest card ever!!! Ok, my sweet neighbor and I were going on a walk in the cool spring air last night LATE and she looked at me with those starry eyes and said, can we make 5 cards? Of course we can!!! What a blast we had! By the way, she is hooked on cards. Tee Hee! My daughter's teacher had a baby yesterday (YAY!!) and I needed a black and pink card since these were her chosen colors. I went for my favorite set for a quick card, Label Love and its coordinating punch, the artisan label punch. We also used Mosaic Madness and the coordinating mosaic punch. coordinating punches really makes simplicity look fabulous. Ask my friend Maeghan Arnold, though. I really struggled over this one using black and melon mambo card stock. I was struggling with the black for a baby card. In the end, I LOVED it. It was the strawberry slush ruffle stretched trim that made the difference in the end. And a few rhinestones always finishes it off nicely. The card is beautiful, but my friend Maeghan who is 26 and fighting breast cancer and winning (YAHOO!) is even more beautiful. I'm not surprised that making cards has drawn us closer as friends. Stampin' Up has a way of doing that with people. Blessings to Maeghan!Stampin' Up supplies used:
stamp sets: Mosaic Madness, Label Love
paper: melon mambo, whisper white and basic black 8 1/2 x 11 card stock
ink: melon mambo, basic black classic stampin' pads
tools: artisan label punch, mosaic punch, modern mosaic embossing folder
embellishments: strawberry slush ruffled stretch trim, basic jewel rhinestones
adhesives: snail adhesive and stampin' dimensionals
Instructions:
Dimensions: Melon mambo base 4 1/4 x 11, whisper white strip 4 1/4 x 1 1/2", basic black strip 4 1/2 x 1 5/8"
Cut base and fold. Stamp quatrefoils in melon mambo on front as shown. Run white strip through BigShot with embossing folder. Layer onto black strip, adhere ruffled trim to underside and attach to card. Stamp "cutest baby ever" in melon mambo and then basic black on a scrap piece of whisper white. Punch out the saying with the mosaic punch (I can't believe that worked, well I can, it's Stampin' Up!) and layer onto pink with stampin' dimensional. Cut black label out, cut in half and attach to underside of the melon mambo label. Adhere to card with a stampin' dimensional. Adhere rhinestones to label as shown.
Maeghan is taking advantage of free shipping and ordering some goodies today. You can to, but it ENDS TOMORROW on the 25th of April, so don't delay!!!
