HAPPY NEW YEAR from Papermadeprettier, sparkly gold and black "New Years" Card

Happy New Year! Card, sparkly gold and black

I made this Stampin' Up New Year's card for a swap before I realized the swap ended after New Year's. Never fear!  See how I turned it into a Valentine's card in an upcoming post.  I used the Delightful Dozen stamp set and watercolor wonder washi tape from the upcoming Occasions catalog.  FUN!

Stampin' Up supplies used:
stamp: Delightful Dozen
ink: versamark pad, black classic stampin' pad
paper: basic black (11" x 4 1/4"), whisper white (3 3/4" x 5"), gold foil sheet (5 1/4" x 4"), whisper white and basic black scraps to punch out stars and banners
BigShot: banners framelits die (second smallest one)
ribbon: gold sequin trim (for sequins), gold baker's twine
punches: merry minis punch pack (annual catalog, holiday carryover list)
other: watercolor wonder designer washi tape, epic day this and that designer washi tape (annual catalog), gold embossing powder
embellishment: metallic mini clothespins
adhesives: glue dots, snail adhesive, stampin' dimensionals

Directions:
Cut base and layers as above.  Adhere washi tape diagonally to the card in strips, folding over the back. To make black and gold washi tape, adhere gold solid washi tape first, then layer with epic day this and that black/white washi tape.  To make polka dotted star, adhere polka dotted washi tape onto a whisper white scrap and punch with small star punch  Adhere tape to the gold foil layer to black base.  Punch stars from gold foil and black card stock and then one from your washi taped whisper white scrap.  Stamp "Happy New Year" onto whisper white scrap with versamark pad, then run through banner die with BigShot.  Then stamp "Happy New Year" with versamark on white scrap and sprinkle gold embossing powder, heat and cut just the "happy" out. Adhere to Happy New Year with dimensionals. Tie gold twine around clothespin and clip on to banner. Adhere banner to card with double stack of dimensionals and adhere stars with glue dots and then adhere sequins to them with glue dots (from gold sequin trim).
