How to create easy DIY customized wedding favors with Something Borrowed Designer Paper

Easy DIY customized wedding favors

I must admit, I was kind of perplexed by the Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper form Stampin' Up.  Now, I'm a "color-girl" and neutrals are just kind of challenging to me. However, the potential to customize a neutral pattern to compliment an event? I'm ON IT! This Something Borrowed paper is the perfect way to showcase our vivid and deep color palate from Stampin' Up.

Simply pick a pattern of the paper, select an area that you want to highlight and pick your favourite Stampin' Up color! Pick up a tad bit of ink on sponge dauber and apply in circles onto the area that you are highlighting.  Start lighter at first, but then add more color. You can add, but not take away!

Here is the Something Borrowed designer series paper from the 2015 Occasions Catalog:
The simple colors are Sahara Sand and Whisper White and there are 4 each of 12 sheets of double sided designer paper in a pack. (that's more than the typical 2 sheets of 6 each)

Simply sponge color on a selected area. I chose the bigger flower pattern in this paper (I used Calypso Coral here):

I used the perfectly coordinated stamp set For the New Two to stamp a cutie tag.
tip: (always stamp and then punch, it's way easier!)

I accented with coordinating colors of chevron ribbon, butterflies (card stock for the lower layer and velum for the top layer and accented it all with self adhesive basic pearls.  The Decorative Label Punch was perfect to punch out the sentiment. To create the under-layer in coordinating color for the label, just punch out a solid piece, cut in half and layer on either side of the whisper white stamped punch.
Colors used from left to right above were daffodil delight, blushing bride and calypso coral.

stamp sets: Label Love

Directions:
Cut whisper white paper and velum in strips 2x4".  Layer then and adhere with a tiny bit of tape in middle where the label will cover it.  Punch gold label out and cut in half (sneaky, sneaky). Now stamp on scrap of whisper white paper with Mr. and Mrs. stamp using the gold encore pad. Punch out with the label punch.  Adhere gold pieces to the upper and lower edges, then adhere to tag with stampin' dimensional.  Cut ribbon and loop through top hole then pull through.
