Team Swaps: Stained Glass, Pigs, Planes and Pockets!

I'm always so curious about what goodies my team will come up with for our monthly team swaps at our fab team gathering. There is so much to love about each of these cards! It's like we have our own little Pretties Artisan Design team. 

Cindy Griffin made this fab card using the Stained Glass Technique. Emboss the flowers on vellum, flip vellum over and color with Stampin' Write Marker. Turn back over and voila! Beautiful! And I'm in loooove with Lemon Lime Twist. Aren't you? it also features the In Color Designer Paper Stack, Layering Ovals. 

I made this cute pocket full of sunshine using the Pocket Full of Sunshine bundle and the Eastern Palace framelits for the yellow sunshine in the pockets. Apparently I put the "for you" on the wrong side of the jeans pocket!  Who knew? It's just the right size for a Ghirardelli chocolate. Chocolate = Sunshine. 

Elizabeth-Mayfield Hart knocked this card out of the ballpark, wouldn't you agree? She stamped and fussy cut these cute buildings our and says it's really easy since they are pretty straight lines. I am super impressed that she made tons of these. I prob would have done one and been like WOW! She's cool that way. In The City is a new stamp set that is only $12 since it's a hostess set. You can either host a party and earn it or put in an order over $150 and qualify to buy it! 

I'm not sure anyone wanted This Little Piggy more than Patience Pruitt Holt.  Is it not adorable? She colored it on watercolor paper and it's fantastic.  Such detail and I love the burlap ribbon which makes me feel like I'm right in the barnyard with this cute swine.

Simply stunning encouragement watercolored card

Backyard Basics encouragement card with Stampin' Up's Backyard Basics and Trust God stamp sets

Does this bird not look like he wants to fly right off the card and give you an encouraging peck? This card is a reminder of the wonderful friendships I have created while stamping with my Stamp Camp c friends at Becky Liggin's monthly stamp club.  Becky is my fabulous upline with Stampin' Up and always has such gorgeous ideas. This one is simply adorable and actually fairly simple. I can't tell you how much I love this stitched satin ribbon. It's hard to describe it until you actually use it, but when you tie it in a bow, it just lays right where you want it to. It's like it has a memory. Want to make this card with 8 or 10 friends? Stampin Up supplies used:

stamps: Backyard Basics, Trust God

paper: so saffron and very vanilla 8 1/2 x 11 card stock, primrose petals 12x12 core'dinations card stock, very vanilla envelopes

ink: basic black, primrose petals, crushed curry and coastal cabana classic stampin' pads

BigShot: labels framelit collection, beautifully baroque embossing folder

ribbon: primrose petals 3/8"stitched satin ribbon

other: blender pens

 

Directions:

Cut so saffron card stock at 5 1/2 on long end and fold for base.  Stamp with crushed curry on the front just randomly around off the edges focusing on 4 corners. Cut a primrose petals core'dinations piece with the labels collection framelit and then a smaller very vanilla piece with same set of framelits. Run the primrose petals piece through the Bigshot with the baroque embossing folder, then sand the primrose petals piece to show off the gorgeous embossed pattern. Stamp the bird and scripture in basic black, let dry.  Now it's time for watercoloring. Here's some tips from the Stampin' Up website on how to watercolor: 

 

Watercoloring SO COOL! Did you know your inkpads could do that?  WOW! Watercolor your bird as you like it. Believe me, no two birds in our group were the same! Stamp one more flower in crushed curry over the watercolored bird. Tie a ribbon with primrose petals ribbon and then adhere layers using snail adhesive. I used stampin' dimensionals on the top ivory piece to make it stand out. Adhere ribbon with glue dot.  Stamp scripture and flower on your envelope for that special touch!   ***Tell me who you would send this card to in the comments below!    Shop 24/7 for stampin' supplies in my online store, here! Press the closed lid of a Classic Stampin' Pad down against the ink pad, creating a small pool of color in the lid; then open the lid. Use a blender pen, an Aqua Painter, or a damp watercolor brush to lift the ink from the lid and apply to the stamped image. QUICK TIP For more saturated colors, watercolor with Classic ink refills.
